I’m still hoping to find a time machine – fully functioning, of course – and then I could travel to all the different centuries I’ve read about and experience it as I’ve only dreamed about.
Outfit Details: Jacket (vintage) Shirt (amazon) Skirt (thrifted) Heels (Modcloth)
I bought this shirt three or so times, returning it each time. It was one of those pieces that I wanted to love so desperately, but I just couldn’t manage to like it on me. I think that’s the way it is with fashion. It’s not always about the way something compliments your figure, sometimes it’s about empowering yourself. I knew I could pull off this shirt, not because I thought it would highlight the right curves, but because I love the vibe it gives me. I feel like just one wrong turn and I could end up in an entirely different time when I’m wearing this.
People can tag others who love clothes as vain and superficial, but they don’t take into account the courage it can bring. Dressing up can help my depression, putting intention into my appearance can help me survive the worst days. Never judge what helps someone cope in this crazy world. It may seem stupid to you, but I guarantee it means everything to them.
