There’s a quote about dressing for who you want to be that day. I tried google searching for it, but could only find quotes about dressing for the job you want. The one I remember is different somehow.

I dress for how I want to feel. I chose my outfits like armor, preparing me for the day ahead and to guard my emotions from the world. Sometimes finding the right armor is easy, sometimes it seems impossible and I must settle for something halfway. This was an easy day, I knew I needed little protection. Knights don’t always have to wear the chainmail.

I dressed light and bright because that’s how I wanted to feel. I wanted to put all my worries aside and just breathe. I twirled and danced. I don’t need any armor.

If anyone knows the quote I’m thinking about, let me know. I’m thinking it was from some fashion designer–of course.
